Surgical Oncologist
Dr Andrew Parasyn is a specialist surgeon who dedicates himself to the management of Thyroid and Parathyroid disease, Breast cancer, Melanoma, Sarcoma, Saliva gland and Advanced Head and Neck Skin Cancer. He performs over 500 operations per year both in the public and private hospital.
biography
Graduating from the University of Sydney he rapidly found his passion for surgery and completed Advanced Surgical Training followed by two years of Fellowship in Surgical Oncology, Head and Neck Surgery, and Breast and Endocrine Surgery.
He currently practices at Sydney Adventist Hospital and is part of the Northern Surgical Oncology group. He also practices at Prince of Wales Public and Prince of Wales Private Hospitals. He has also been accredited to look after Thyroid and Parathyroid disease in children at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.
Dr Parasyn has been involved in and has ongoing participation in several research projects covering Acute-care surgery, Breast and Endocrine disease and Sarcoma. He is a member of the Australian Medical Association, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, General Surgeons Australia, Australian Endocrine Surgeons, Breast SurgANZ, and is Supervisor of Surgical Training at Prince of Wales Public Hospital. Dr Parasyn is a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New South Wales and regularly teaches and mentors students from the University of Sydney through his appointment at Sydney Adventist Hospital.
His goal is to ensure a very smooth journey for his patients in a difficult time through good communication, expert surgery, and thorough follow-up.
